Spent a little time out in the boat the past couple of weeks, explored St. Helena Island and lighthouse, doing some swimming and hiking and catching a few bald eagles on the backside. Headed up to Tahquamenon Falls for a Labor Day hike from the lower to upper falls, a 4 mile trek one way. You can hije back (NOT), or have someone like your mother pick you up at the other end (GREAT OPTION). Beautiful hike along the river and a medium degree of dificulty. Brought the grandkids and they actually loved it and did well. Decided to get out and fish for some salmon being that I’m watching them jump in the bay now while at work. Fished a sheet of glass Lake Huron and brought in a 14 pounder, soon to be smoked by favorite son-in-law and king of the smokehouse. Husband was ready to head in early but I wined and prolonged it by 10 minutes, just enough time for Big Activity!
